Screen Printing Equipment for Schools & Classrooms

For art teachers, CTE programs & college print labs

Bring real screen printing into your classroom without building a darkroom. RISO digital screen makers turn a student's artwork into a print-ready screen straight from a computer, with no photo emulsion, no exposure unit and no washout sink. From the screen maker to the press and dryer, we can equip your whole program.

Why digital screen making fits a classroom

A digital screen maker replaces the film-and-exposure step of screen printing, the part that usually needs a darkroom, a light-safe space and careful chemical handling.

No darkroom requiredScreens are made from a digital file, so there's no emulsion to coat, dry or expose, and no darkroom to build or maintain.
Fits a class periodArtwork goes from file to screen in minutes, so students can design, make a screen and print in the same lesson.
Less to superviseNo photo-emulsion chemicals or washout sink means less mess and fewer safety concerns in a shared room.
Real industry equipmentStudents learn on the same kind of machine professional print shops use, not a toy version.
Consistent resultsEvery screen images the same way, so critique and grading focus on design and technique, not on a lucky exposure.
Works with Mac and WindowsStudents can print from the computers your lab already has, using the design software they already know.

Equipment for every level of program

K-12 art rooms

Hands-on printmaking for every student

The compact MiScreen A4 makes a screen in about 30 seconds and fits on a classroom table. Pair it with a tabletop press for shirts, posters and art projects.

CTE & career programs

Real production skills

The GOCCOPRO 100 and QS200 handle multi-color work with registration, so students learn the workflow they'd use in a working shop.

Colleges & university labs

Production-scale coursework

The QS1836 and QS2536 make large-format, high-resolution screens for design, illustration and print production programs.

Student-run shops

Keep spirit wear in-house

Print clubs, school stores and booster merch can be produced on campus instead of sent out for every order.

Build your classroom print shop

Screen printing takes three steps: make the screen, print it and cure the ink. We carry equipment for each one, so your program can buy from one supplier.

Make screens

Choose a RISO digital screen maker sized to your program.

Print

Manual presses from Vastex, from a one-color tabletop press to multi-color production presses.

Cure

Heat-set prints so they last through the wash.

Stock up

Reorder everything your class uses from one place.

Five screen makers, one workflow

Every RISO screen maker uses the same digital process. The difference is screen size and output, so your program can start small and step up without changing how students work.

  3. Order the way your district needs to. We accept purchase orders, and schools can apply for a business account for easy reordering.

Questions teachers ask

Does a digital screen maker replace a darkroom?

Yes. It replaces the film, emulsion and exposure steps of making a screen, which are the parts that usually need a darkroom. Students still print by hand on a press.

Is it safe for students to use?

The screen makers create screens with heat instead of light-sensitive chemicals, so there's no photo emulsion to coat or wash out. As with any equipment, we recommend teacher supervision and an introductory training session.

Will it work with our school computers?

Yes. RISO screen makers work with both Mac and Windows computers.

Can our purchasing office send a purchase order?

Yes. You can submit a purchase order through our purchase order page, or contact us and we'll help with quotes and paperwork.

Which machine should we start with?

Most K-12 art rooms start with the MiScreen A4. CTE and college programs that print multi-color work usually look at the GOCCOPRO QS series. Tell us about your program and we'll recommend a setup.

Do you sell the supplies too?

Yes. We stock mesh, frames, inks, tape, squeegees and cleaners, so your program can reorder everything from one place.
