Genuine RISO Carbon Pen Twin, a dual-tip marker filled with carbon black ink, for drawing hand-made originals for heat- and flash-exposed screen making.

Why carbon matters: Flash and thermal screen-making systems only image what absorbs heat, and carbon black does. Anything you draw or write with this pen will burn into the screen. This makes it ideal for hand lettering, signatures, line art, and touch-ups on your originals.

Features

  • Two tips in one pen: Medium and Bold
  • Carbon black ink, made in Japan by RISO Kagaku Corp.
  • Water-resistant once dry; won't fade from light or heat

Compatible with

  • RISO Print Gocco (B6 and B5 models)
  • Thermofax and other thermal-copier screen making that requires carbon-based originals

Not for use with digital screen makers (GOCCOPRO, MiScreen). Those machines image from a digital file, not a drawn original. To use hand-drawn art on a digital screen maker, scan your artwork and send it as a file.

Tips for best results

  • Let your original dry completely before exposing it, especially areas with large filled-in solids. Moisture absorbs the heat and causes weak or patchy images. If needed, lay a sheet of paper over the original and iron it until fully dry.
  • Don't shake the pen hard or drop it, which can cause ink to spurt from the tip.
  • Always cap tightly after use.

About this stock

These pens are new old stock, factory sealed in original RISO packaging (produced between 2001 and 2012). RISO discontinued Print Gocco supplies in 2012, so quantities are limited and cannot be restocked. A sample from this batch has been tested and writes dark and clean.
