If you’re looking for a faster, cleaner and more efficient way to produce quality screens for screen printing, you have come to the right place. Some people might not realize this, but screen making has come a long way since it was patented in 1907.
But not much as changed in the last 100 years - until now!
What Needs Does RISO Thermal Screen Making Meet?
Faster turn around time: RISO's digital screen makers are recognized by your computer as a printer. Plug in, print, and have a screen ready to go in less than five minutes. Traditional screen making can take hours, or even overnight depending on your emulsion drying process. You can accommodate job requests with a faster fulfillment rate and less labor, keeping you competitive in the market.
Less need for space: A printer for film positives, emulsion tank, exposure unit, drying racks, and washout booth can on average require about 400 sq feet of space for a small to medium screen making department (about the size of a two car garage). Our most advanced Screen Maker, the QS2536 is only 4.4 ft x 3.25 ft and can sit on a 6 foot folding table.
No need for ventilation: The RISO Digital Screen makers do not produce fumes or utilize the toxic chemicals of traditional screen making, eliminating the need for ventilation. So you can keep those garage doors closed on those 100 degree days.
Reduced need for equipment: To make a screen, simply plug your computer into the RISO GOCCOPRO or MiScreen, and print. There is no need for a film positive, UV exposure unit, or a washout booth.
No water requirements: No need for special plumbing installation at your workshop. The screen reclamation process on a RISO screen is as easy as cutting the mesh out and replacing the sheet with a new one.

How Does It Work?
The material used for RISO machines comes on a roll of mesh that is pre-coated with emulsion. Cut off the desired amount to fit your frame size, and the special frames made for thermal mesh tighten the screen automatically as it’s screwed in.
The GOCCOPRO machine uses a thermal print head to selectively heat areas of the screen master. The heat creates the image by opening the mesh only where ink should pass through.
